Womenago

That’s a play on the word “menopause” , ‘women’ is opposite of men put in the ‘a’ and then the opposite of pause is ‘go’.

I’m getting a little excited because I think I may be experiencing some symptoms, either that or I’m pregnant again, but according to statistics there only a 1% chance of that happening.  This topic was taboo to talk about not too long ago, I’m not sure why.  But with that being said this probably won’t be one of my top read blogs.

I remember attending one of my natural health workshops where a lady said,  “we should embrace menopause.”

It’s a completely natural change our bodies go through – personally I look at it a a liberation of sorts.  The thing I’m most looking forward to is being liberated from my monthly ‘girl friend’ visit.  It seems a lot of women my age have had some sort of procedure to stave the flow….but darn my healthy body!

In most women’s lives it’s the time when their children are starting to move out of the house – no more car pooling, school event attending, and fridge raiding.  Of course I’m not there yet and won’t be, maybe forever, that’s part of the joy of having a special needs child.

Then there’s the phenomenon of ‘hot flashes’, I’ve always run hot…so I’m hoping the extra heat will literally burn some fat off my body.

Emotions supposedly get a little wacky.  If I cry at 75% of the vids I see on Facebook now I may be in trouble on that one, but I imagine my family will not see any difference.

So far I haven’t found too much negative – but I may be rejoicing too soon.  I’m still on the early part of the bell curve with the average age between 55 & 60.  So I may be waiting a long time!!

I tried to find a chart to support the facts I’m spouting:

(this chart shows bone mass as well…with my build I have no worries about my bone mass.)Menopause bone graph

Age-at-Last-Birth-Menopause-900x506 So this chart shows menopause in association with last birth.  I was 39 for my last birth, so if this is correct I’ll hit menopause at about 50.

Well anyway, wish me luck on my journey into liberation!
