Since last Wednesday I have been receiving cryptic texts from Bill, like “Do you like it hot or cold?”, or “do you like it easy or difficult”, basically I had been getting about 2 a day, if you want to know all the questions, I can send you the list. Needless to say, every time my text tone went off I blushed in anticipation. So on Valentine’s day he picked me up, kissed me, then gave me clue #1. It ends up clues were placed strategically all around Muncie, I figured most out without much effort, but a couple confused me. Bill would drive wherever I thought the clue might be pointing to, which put a lot of pressure on me! It was great though. I reminded him that I did have a yoga class to teach, and – somehow- he got a hold of the wonderful lady who subs for me! Total surprise!! So after a visit to the Minetrista, McCullough trail head, The BSU campus, the fair grounds (nothing there, I was wrong), & Books a Million. We then headed back home (the final clue said so) and were met by the paparazzi.

The floor was be-decked with petals….

The table was set with amazing food and drinks!

The bottles say, “Love potion #9″ (they were root-beer, and the bottle was cider…FYI)

Yes- fondue! Who ever thought of Milano cookies in chocolate fondue was genius! We had dessert, played a few rounds of ping pong, then settled in for a wonderful night!

A big thanks to this girl for helping Bill get the evening planned and done!

By the way – all those texts… they helped him plan the evening, on the ‘easy of difficult’ I answered difficult, so thus the scavenger hunt, otherwise it would have been a movie. The “hot or cold”, I choose cold, so banana splits were dessert, otherwise it would have been pie, etc. Very creative and sexy!

I was spoiled rotten! I loved every second of it!

It was an exciting day for the Inman clan yesterday. David is home! In order to get the entire fam out and back we had to borrow a van from a very sweet family!

With David coming home in just 11 days we thought we had better get going on his room. Sadly we lost our storage area for the bikes and Christmas stuff….but with the help of some hard working children we transformed the room into a cute little bedroom. Since he probably won’t be around for long (college, marriage, etc…) it should do for the duration.

One fantastic thing I haven’t mentioned yet is TAWNY’S HOME! We’re so glad to have her back, although I think she’s a little homesick for Switzerland.

We are finally getting a little winter, Aurora took Enoch out in the snow and got some adorable pictures.

And lastly – I’m still going strong with the juicing. This is the end of day 6. I’ll blog more on that later.

Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead

My blood pressure has been a little high (180/110), OK – so maybe more than a little high. I don’t have any side effects from it, so I haven’t worried about it. But it’s been up there for too long and it’s time to get it under control. I promised the people I work with (who seem to love me and are very concerned with my health!) that I would do something about it. Of course my first thought was to see a Dr. I am now covered by the wonder Muncie School district health ins. But seeing a Dr. taking meds just doesn’t sit right with me. I want one more try to self-correct. I happened on this movie as I was surfing through Netflicks and 5 minutes into it I decided that this would be the way! A Juice fast.

I start tomorrow, Monday February 16th, and I will go 10 days, through Thursday Feb. 26th. Juice and water, that is all that I will eat. If my bp is not lower, then I will search out a Dr. But I have a good feeling about this. I have a little advantage going into this, we have a juicer, I know how to juice, and I already believe in juicing.

Wish me luck…I’ll post again in 11 days with the results!

As a yoga instructor I have some sort of built in motivator that goes into high gear right about this time. I am curbing that desire this year! I’m learning more every year – and I have learned a very important lesson recently…

NOTHING GETS DONE WITHOUT THE WHY!

Let me explain: We know how. I mean really – we all know how to get into better shape - exercise. We know how to lose weight – eat less calories than burned. We know how to get out of debt- spend less than earned. We know how to do pretty much all the the things we resolve each year to do either afresh, again, or a’fantasy. It’s not just knowing something that enables me to do it. It’s having a reason that sways me stronger than the impulse of the moment. I’m not going to have a body like the one pictured here – ever! I’m OK with that. I could have one looking better than the current one I’m inhabiting, but I need to find the incentive. I feel so healthy, strong, and capable – so the current added poundage doesn’t effect me in what I am able to do (or at least in the things I want to do).

So what have your ‘whys’ been? Share what has made you start or stick to a program and reap success! Maybe something you did will give me a good enough ‘why’ to shun the brownie and add in an exercise routine!

David has asked for 2 things for Christmas, my rice crispy bars (made with brown rice syrup!) and a family picture. Since he & Tawny are not here I just herded the family out on Family Night to take some quick shots for him. It ended up being NOT what Enoch had in mind. He was outdoors with an open field in front of him, being cooped up in someone’s arms did not fit into the picture…literally!

The Nativity

It is finished! Bill created this amazing piece for the Nativity program being held at our church – This Saturday (Dec. 3rd) , 12:00 -9:00. There will be all sorts of nativities set up, art work (Bill’s painting – of course!), music, refreshments…if you’re in Muncie you should stop by!

Last night Eve & Aurora were inducted into the National Honor Society. Harrison (already a member) was there to show them the ropes.

There was no room in the living room for the tree (with Enoch’s floor art and all), so the tree was relegated to the front hall.

Yep! It came! Winter! If you look at the 2 poor souls having to walk in this with an umbrella, you’ll recognize them as the Inman twins. Poor kids, mom can’t drive 4 blocks to pick them up from school. You can also see a pink rose on Bill’s rose bush, those babies have really held on.
