blah blah blah!
As a yoga instructor I have some sort of built in motivator that goes into high gear right about this time. I am curbing that desire this year! I’m learning more every year – and I have learned a very important lesson recently…
NOTHING GETS DONE WITHOUT THE WHY!
Let me explain: We know how. I mean really – we all know how to get into better shape - exercise. We know how to lose weight – eat less calories than burned. We know how to get out of debt- spend less than earned. We know how to do pretty much all the the things we resolve each year to do either afresh, again, or a’fantasy. It’s not just knowing something that enables me to do it. It’s having a reason that sways me stronger than the impulse of the moment. I’m not going to have a body like the one pictured here – ever! I’m OK with that. I could have one looking better than the current one I’m inhabiting, but I need to find the incentive. I feel so healthy, strong, and capable – so the current added poundage doesn’t effect me in what I am able to do (or at least in the things I want to do).
So what have your ‘whys’ been? Share what has made you start or stick to a program and reap success! Maybe something you did will give me a good enough ‘why’ to shun the brownie and add in an exercise routine!
